OUR COACHES 

Brian Tilley

Club Director

As Club Director, Brian is a seasoned triathlete and coach.  Among the many achievements, Brian is a two-time KONA qualifier, finishing 12th in his age group in 2013 and three-time 70.3 World Championship qualifier, breaking the record 2-hour mark at the Olympic ITU in Budapest. Brian also won the Challenge Henley Ironman in 2011, and placed 3rd at Ironman Bolton and Ironman 70.3 Dublin. In addition to triathlon, Brian dabbles in football as an FA football coach. He started this journey with a 1st class Sports Science degree from the University of Surrey.

Marc Butterworth

Head Coach

Marc is the first at the pool and the last to leave a social event. Marc has always been a lover of the outdoors and often will provide athletes with lots of cross-training ideas for better performance. His training programmes can whip new triathletes into shape and get them prepped for race day. 

Paul Tilley

Coach

Certified with the British Triathlon Federation, Paul is also a seasoned coach and triathlete, and a father of a budding gymnast. Paul is a multiple Ironman 70.3 finisher and most notably, completed the Alpe DHuez long course. As an avid road cyclist, Paul has climbed Mont Ventoux from all three sides in a single day and completed the Quebranthuesos Gran Fondo (200km). Paul's targets for next year include the Scilly Swim Challenge, a total of 15km swimming broken up by 10km of running. 

Kevin Davidson

Coach-in-training

Kevin is a rounded sportsman, working towards his Level 2 British Triathlon Federation coaching award and is a qualified ASA swim instructor. Kevin came fifth overall in the Mid-Sussex Aquabike in 2015, fourth at the Hever Castle 70.3 Aquabike, and has mastered what it takes for swim-bike transitions. His coaching specialty is BRICK. Kevin is also a qualified PADI instructor and white-water rafting guide, and CWLA climbing instructor. A very well-rounded athlete who loves to chat about the outdoors.  Ask him anything about triathlon, he'll be happy to help.
